DSpace Technical Days

RSP's very popular surgery day for users of DSpace repositories.

This one-day event is aimed specifically at repository administrators, technical support staff and developers engaged in the day-to-day operation and development of repositories.

The day consisted of two strands (and participants free to move between each).

Possible Programme

Registration

Metadata & Schema Management
Submission system configuration (submission.xml, input-forms.xml)
Understanding the workflow system
Search & browsing system configuration
Introduction to development
CRON & utility scripts (batch import, etc.)
Lunch
An advanced tutorial in the afternoon:	[Handout]
Advanced installation (LDAP, Multilingualism/Internationalisation, Security[DSpace over HTTPS])
Handles/Persistent identification
Storage abstraction in DSpace
Lucene Search
DSpace & Manakin
Configurable Browse/Submission
Addon/Event Mechanism/Maven
The day will wrap up with a preview of DSpace 1.5.	[Handout]
