RoMEO and CRIS in Practice

1st April 2011

Aston Business School Conference Centre, Birmingham, B4 7ET

SHERPA/RoMEO data is increasingly being used in CRIS systems to integrate publication lists with institutional open access repositories. This is usually achieved using the RoMEO Application Programmers’ Interface, and CRIS applications increased usage of the API 10-fold during 2010. This has performance implications both for CRIS applications and for RoMEO itself.

This workshop will discuss the benefits of integrating RoMEO with CRIS systems, discuss best practice and efficiency tips, and raise the licensing issues surrounding the use of RoMEO in CRIS software.

Aims & Objectives

  • Learn how using RoMEO can catalyse the interaction between CRIS publication lists and institutional open access repositories
  • Learn the most efficient ways of using RoMEO in CRIS applications
  • Share experiences of using RoMEO in CRIS applications
  • Compare CRIS software suppliers’ approaches to using RoMEO data

Target Audience

  • CRIS software suppliers
  • CRIS software users and research administrators
  • Repository administrators

This event is being held in collaboration between the Repositories Support Project  and SHERPA/RoMEO. There are a limited number of places, and priority will given to delegates from the United Kingdom.
