An event aimed at repository administrators and technical staff engaged in the operation and development of DSpace repositories
The day consisted of two strands (and participants were free to move between each):
Strand 1: consisting of an open 'surgery' where you can get free consultancy, advice, problem solving etc.
Strand 2: consisting of:
A basic tutorial in the morning -
- Introduction to DSpace System
- Metadata & Schema Management
- Submission system configuration (submission.xml, input-forms.xml)
- Understanding the workflow system
- Search & browsing system configuration
- Introduction to development
- CRON & utility scripts (batch import, etc.)
An advanced tutorial in the afternoon -
- Advanced installation (LDAP, Multilingualism/Internationalisation, Security[DSpace over HTTPS])
- Handles/Persistent identification
- Storage abstraction in DSpace
- Lucene Search
- DSpace & Manakin
- Configurable Browse/Submission
- Addon/Event Mechanism/Maven
The day wrapped up with a preview of DSpace 1.5.
