RSP Repository Services DayThe RSP Repository Services Day proved to be a popular event with researchers, repository managers, information professionals. The event was held at the University of Nottingham on the 23rd April and showcased key repository and search services available to the UK repository and research community. The morning focussed on services available to support the deposit process and presentations were given on RoMEO, JULIET, OpenDOAR, ROAR, The Depot and JORUM. The afternoon focused on search services and presentations were given on EThOS, OAIster, BASE, and Intute Repository Search. Presentations and photographs from the event are available here. The final part of the day was devoted to a workshop and discussion of current services and services of the future. Participants were asked divide into groups of 5 or 6 and consider a number of questions:
The difficulty of being able to find all relevant services was also raised
and the idea of a "service of services" or one-stop-shop seemed
popular. Thank you to all participants who filled out evaluation sheets for the day- your comments and suggestions are much appreciated and will be used to identify topics for future RSP events. All respondents were entered in a draw for an iPod. Lynne Pearce from the Greenfield Medical Library, University of Nottingham drew the name at random.
Congratulations to Phil Butler from the University of Manchester: an iPod is on its way to you now!
