  • Level of mediated deposit: Partially - people other than repository staff (e.g departmental admin, researchers) create records and then these are checked by repository staff. Before items are made live they are reviewed by a panel to verify that items meet research criteria. Items can be returned for information where applicable.
  • Accept metadata records or full-text only: Also accept metadata only records
  • Percentage full-text: Less than 5% at a guess
  • Currently have institutional policy / mandate: Yes
  • Currently have preservation policy for repository: No. This is something that needs to be developed.
  • Content types included in repository: Research articles, Conference papers, Books, Multimedia (images, video, sound), Theses
  • Quality assurance policy for research content: We accept peer reviewed and non-peer reviewed materials. There is a review committee that verifies material as research.
  • Currently have e-theses deposit policy: No. This, again is an area we are addressing.
  • E-theses policy is opt-out (i.e. the thesis will be made OA unless the student requests an exception): N/A

Institutional context

  • Department with lead responsibility for repository: Library. There are close links with the Research Office

  • Bids for external funding: Yes. The repository grew out of the JISC funded Kultur project 2007-2009. I have also written the advocacy and decision making toolkits for the JISC funded Kultivate project
